Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair

Female · Adult · 5 years

Daisy & Dotty TRURO, CORNWALL Adoption fee for Daisy and Dotty is £650 DAISY 5 years old Female, mini (7kg), chocolate merle, smooth Not neutered DOTTY 5 years old Female, mini (7kg) red dapple, smooth Not neutered Daisy and Dotty are a gentle, bonded pair looking for a new home because their current family’s circumstances have changed and they are no longer able to be given the attention and time that they deserve. The family rescued both dogs from an uncertain start in life where they were living in unsuitable conditions and being used for breeding. Despite being sweet and affectionate dogs, this lack of care means they are still adjusting to life in a family home. Their new owners will need to have the time and patience to help them to continue adapting, in particular, they will need to be house trained properly. Daisy is the more confident of the pair and is definitely the boss! She is a cheeky and sassy girl who mothers Dotty and looks out for her. Like most dachshunds, she loves nothing more than a comfy blanket and a snuggle with a kind person. Dotty adores having her tummy rubbed and is the quieter of the two. She had an IVDD episode in January 2026 and is recovering very well with pain relief and crate rest – she is up and wobbly walking and has bladder control and will hopefully make a full recovery. The Red Foundation will pay for ongoing medical expenses relating to this and we will discuss this further with potential adopters. Daisy and Dotty are very much bonded: they play together, sleep together and eat together and have been together since they were puppies. They could possibly live with an older, calm dog, subject to a successful meet. As they have not been socialised, walking is still something they are learning to do: they can lunge and bark at other dogs. We can provide behaviourist support, if required, so they can learn that walks are a time for fun and adventure. They will also really benefit from a garden in which they can exercise and explore. If you feel you can offer this soft and cuddly pair of dogs a loving, stable home and are ready to put in some work to help them feel safe and settled, then please contact Requirements in a home for Daisy and Dotty Someone who is around much of the day Can live with sensible children 12+ Could potentially live with a calm, older dog, subject to a successful meet Access to a garden No cats

About Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair

What life with Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair looks like

Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair is a adult dog waiting at The Red Foundation in Pentlow Street.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Red Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Red Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Red Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy & Dotty – Bonded Pair and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
