Daisy

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Senior Β· 14 years

Dear Daisy is looking for new potential adopters to enjoy the quieter life with her, plus plenty of opportunities for cuddles and love. Meantime, she is being cared for by the Mayhew Animal Home in North London and is looking forward to going to her new home soon. Lovely Daisy is an older Jack Russell Terrier Cross lady aged 14 years, but she certainly does not show her age apart from enjoying a rest perhaps a bit more than she did in her younger years. She is still happy to head out on steady adventures and enjoy the world around her. Daisy likes her people and is sweet and affectionate, loving a fuss and will make a very rewarding companion, given the chance. Daisy has experienced quite a lot of freedom in her previous life, so walking on a lead beside her people has been a new concept for her but she has taken it all in her stride. She will be looking for new owners who have the time to continue supporting her through this with lots of praise and encouragement. Daisy can live in a flat as long as there is direct access to a private garden. Due to her age and worried nature at times, she should live in adult-only household with no visiting young children. She could potentially live with a calm, well adjusted adult dog, subject to a successful meet at Mayhew, but not cats please. Daisy has had a dental with extractions whilst at Mayhew. She has been microchipped, neutered and vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worming treatment. She has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed. Lastly, every dog adopted from Mayhew will go home with 4 weeks' free pet insurance. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to take lovely Daisy home, please contact Mayhew Animal Home as follows: Or complete the Application to adopt on Mayhew’s website, click here. Please mention you saw Daisy on the Oldies Club website.

About Daisy

What life with Daisy looks like

Daisy is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Daisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
