Adopt Daisy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Daisy is a beagle mix pup and is about 10 months old. As you can see she is a little stunner. However, she is an extremely intelligent, energetic and super trainable girl and so has specific requirements in a new home. She came into our care in poor condition at about 3 months old but is now fully recovered and ready for her forever home. She is a very clever and active pup and needs a home where she will get appropriate exercise and enrichment. Ideally she needs an adult home or one with teenagers and someone who is interested in training - part of Daisys adoption agreement will be that she attend appropriate training classes and her owner will be committed to ongoing training. She needs a home where she will have someone at home most of the time and ideally a more mature, steady dog to teach her the ropes. Daisy has a fabulous personality. She is gentle and kind natured. She is good with other dogs, good on the lead and walks sniffing the ground for delicious smells as she goes. She love love loves her food and enjoys Kongs and treats. She is learning some basic commands and will need ongoing work with engagement and recall. She is so cute that she turns many heads out walking. She is excellent with everyone she meets on her adventures. She is crate trained and settles well in her crate at night. She is doing well with house training and this will need to be continued in her new home. She loves to play ball and is quite confident and keen to learn new things. She is very food motived and super trainable. Daisy is a lot of fun and very sweet. She has specific requirements will be an adult home (or with teenagers) will have someone home most of the time will have another more mature, calm dog of similar size must have a secure garden, of a good size, at the house will be committed to continuing to work with adolescent behaviour, and supporting her throughout will be committed to her ongoing training and enrichment The best location for Daisy will be in a rural or suburban area that has plenty of green space and is not heavily built up or very busy. Having means to drive her to suitable areas for exercise and exploration, especially early on, will be important. Daisy is a young dog just entering adolescence - do not apply for her if you are going to be unavailable to her during the day. That means her new humans must be working at a maximum part time and that includes if working from home - you’re still working! This is important for young dogs generally, and this dog specifically, so that she can learn to be around life with humans. Daisy can spend short amounts of time alone, in confinement, each day and settles well while alone in her pen or crate. She must be confined as she is a naughty young dog and will definitely get herself into mischief! Daisy is vaccinated and microchipped (972274200246366) and we will organise spaying her when she has developed more and it's healthy and safe to neuter. Please read Daisy's profile carefully and apply only if you feel you match the criteria. We will only be able to process applications that match Daisy's needs. Dept of Ag. Registration No: JPT20000

About Daisy

What life with Daisy looks like

Daisy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at A Dog in Glenmore.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A Dog handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A Dog will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A Dog early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
