Adopt Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016

Mixed Breed · Female

Dana had to return to the animal shelter unfortunately after a longer period of rehoming. Dana lived problem-free with a family for years, including children and a cat. The family had new additions and did not feel comfortable with Dana around the infants. For the family, the path to the animal shelter was unavoidable. Dana is familiar with life in the home and with the family. She has a shoulder height of approximately 38 cm. We would be happy to rehome her with another family with children. Dana is really great with children! However, the children should be more steadfast and older. If there are children, they should already be at least ten years old. Dana still needs work on her leash behavior; dog training classes should be sought. Dana has already had a secure off-leash period here, but this must be trained well and extensively beforehand. Dana is hunting-motivated and would likely leave your people standing on the field first. When Dana was dropped off with us, it was also mentioned that she would chase cars. This behavior has improved significantly, but there is still work to be done on it. Dana is a very active female dog who also wants to work. She is certainly not a couch dog who doesn't want to do anything. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dana, w, kastriert, geb. 04-2016 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
