Daphne

Unknown

Daphne came to us along with 6 other rabbits. Daphne is a German Giant rabbit mix and at around 6 months old is not yet fully grown and can therefore grow even larger. She is friendly towards people and shows interest. She enjoys watching us clean and likes to be involved in everything. With other rabbits, she is more dominant. She communicates very clearly and shows what is okay for her and what is not. She also likes to assert her own will. Therefore, we are looking for a home with fellow rabbits that are not physically inferior to her. If Daphne has piqued your interest, we look forward to a meaningful email with pictures of the future living situation. We only mediate in appropriate living conditions (2 rabbits need at least 6 square meters) and not in solitary confinement. General inquiry: No diseases known.

DE·Show original

Allgemeine Interessentenanfrage:

About Daphne

What life with Daphne looks like

Daphne is a small adult rabbit waiting at Tierschutzverein Ettlingen in Ettlingen.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daphne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daphne?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ettlingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daphne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daphne if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Daphne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen directly what is included and what Daphne still needs.
What happens if Daphne isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ettlingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daphne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
