adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Daria has found her home! Her story: Daria – a beautiful female dog on the lookout for her happiness. She enchants us with a direct smile. Her name means "Owner of the Good" and stands for trust, positive energy, and joy in life. Daria delights with her short, white-brown spotted fur and a magical facial marking. With her dark button eyes and alert gaze, she is a true gem. Since the end of October, Daria has been living in a loving foster family and shows her very best side there. She is open, extremely friendly, cuddly, and enjoys every affection. Children should already be a bit older. She gets along well with the first dogs in the household, she is friendly and partly submissive. Daria is smart, eager to learn, and already masters some basic commands. On the leash, she runs very well, is house-trained, and loves the drying and cleaning of her paws after a walk. The young female dog is still very playful, loves playing ball, and likes everything that squeaks. Sometimes she reacts a bit fearfully to large cars and some men – that will take time and gentle acclimatization. Originally from Baia Mare, Romania, where she was found on the street and brought to safety, Daria is open to new experiences and looks forward to loving people who are ready to not only include her in their lives but also in their hearts, to share many beautiful moments and memories with her. Daria is available for adoption at any time. She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. Who will give Daria the happiness she so deserves? We heartily thank the namingsponsor Susi G., who gave Daria her name and thus a personal identity. As of 15.11.

About Daria

What life with Daria looks like

Daria is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
