Das Quartett

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Hello, we are a sibling quartet consisting of 2 brothers and 2 sisters. We were born around May/June last year. Our mom brought us some time to the place where she always went to eat. The people were very surprised. But they immediately made sure that our mom was spayed. She was allowed to stay, but there was no more space for us and since we were getting bigger and no one wanted us, the cat help was informed. Since then we have been learning at a foster home that humans are not so bad at all. Because we had no human contact during our formative phase and are initially very shy and fearful. But we have developed really well by now. Okay, maybe we are still shy with strangers. That's understandable, right? But cuddling with our foster mom works great already. The boys really enjoy it and purr and knead happily. We girls are still a bit reserved. At least Tessa doesn't like being petted and just tolerates it. But she learns a lot from our brother Toni, who does it really well. That's why she would like to move to the new home together with him. Thilo is the most open one of us and sometimes even gives headbutts to show his affection. I, Tammi, with the kiss mark on my nose, am open to other cat friendships. I can probably learn a lot from them. Because cuddling is not really my thing yet. We imagine our new home as a place where cat lovers live who already have experience with cats. Patience, understanding and lots of love for shy cats. We need to build trust first. But as a real cat lover you know that once the ice is broken, you will have a loyal soul by your side. With other cats we are uncomplicated and very social. That's why keeping us alone is not an option. We don't rush and get along very well with suitable for apartment living. So, which cat enthusiast will give us time to warm up? To get to know each other, please tell our foster mom something about yourself.

About Das Quartett

What life with Das Quartett looks like

Das Quartett is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Stuttgart e.V..

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Das Quartett, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Das Quartett?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Das Quartett on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Das Quartett if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Das Quartett already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Das Quartett isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Das Quartett and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
