Dash

Mixed Breed · Male

Dash and his sister Dina were surrendered to the animal shelter. We do not know their actual origin. They were reportedly found. Dash is a beautiful Irish Wolfhound-Fonnese mix. His coat is slightly lighter than his sister's. He is also more active in character. This is probably because it is difficult for his sister to compete with the other males. Dash is an alert young dog and very people-oriented. He approached us without fear, allowing himself to be stroked and cuddled. Like his sister, Dash is relaxed and calm. A friendly young dog who will develop into a great family dog with the right support. We are looking for a family/individual with dog experience and a garden/patio for Dash. A first dog in the family is welcome. Do you have questions about Dash? Please feel free to contact us. All dogs are chipped, vaccinated and travel with an EU passport in a transport registered with the German veterinary office when they leave. The dogs travel with TRACES.

About Dash

What life with Dash looks like

Dash is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Furbys FellFreunde in Bornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dash, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dash?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Furbys FellFreunde handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dash on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dash if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Furbys FellFreunde will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dash already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dash isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Furbys FellFreunde early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dash and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
