Animal Protection of Pego (APROP): Input 17 February 2026: Denis was found along the road to Adsubia. The person who found him is called Denis, and he brought him to APROP. After a post on social media, there was no response. So Denis was vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered and is now ready for adoption. Denis is a small playful young Podenco who needs movement and attention. He likes playing with other dogs and sees people and children as the best playmates. Because Denis is a small Podenco, there was soon interest in him. He was taken by a Spanish family who were very enthusiastic after a short meeting. However, when they got home, they discovered that Denis was completely unused to living in a house, everything was new for him and overwhelming. He had separation anxiety, he didn't understand that he couldn't go with the family when they left, and the first night he found it very hard to be left alone and not allowed to be with the family. And believe it or not.........within 24 hours, Denis was returned to the animal shelter. The reason???? They didn't know how to handle a young dog, they clearly didn't speak dog language. And now Denis is back at APROP, we hope soon to find a family that understands that a dog needs some time to get used to his new family and situation. Denis deserves a home.

Protectora de Animales de Pego (APROP): Input 17 februari 2026: Denis is gevonden langs de weg naar Adsubia. Degene die hem heeft gevonden heet Denis en hij heeft hem naar APROP gebracht. Na een oproep op sociale media kwam geen enkele reactie. Dus werdt Denis gevaccineerd, gechipt en gecastreerd en is hij nu klaar voor adoptie. Denis is een kleine speelse jonge podenco die beweging en aandacht nodig heeft. Hij speelt graag met andere honden en ziet mensen en kinderen als de beste speelmaatjes. Omdat Denis een kleine podenco is was er al snel belangstelling voor hem. Hij werd meegenomen door een Spaanse familie die na een korte kennismaking super enthousiast waren. Echter thuis gekomen kwamen ze tot de ontdekking dat Denis nog helemaal niet gewend was om te leven in een huis, dat alles nieuw voor hem was en overweldigend. Hij had verlatingsangst, hij begreep niet dat hij niet mee kon als de familie weg ging en ook de eerste nacht vond hij het erg dat hij alleen werd gelaten en niet bij de familie mocht zijn. En geloof het of niet........na de eerste nacht, binnen 24 uur werd Denis ontredderd terug gebracht naar het asiel. De reden???? Ze wisten niet hoe ze met een jonge hond om moesten gaan, spraken duidelijk niet de hondentaal. En nu is Denis weer terug bij APROP, wij hopen gauw op een familie die wel begrijpt dat een hond even tijd nodig heeft om aan zijn nieuwe familie en situatie te wennen. Denis verdient een thuis.
