Adopt Derwisz

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

A small (up to the middle of the leg), healthy, energetic puppy, the leader of all games with his siblings. He is everywhere, moving at light speed. His main playmate right now is his brother Budrysek. Derwiszek is curious about the world and gladly explores all new things. He approaches people cautiously, with reserve, not forcing himself. Quite shy. He will feel good in an active family. Derwiszek is ready for life in a house. Like his siblings, he went through socialization with children and adults. He knows games that develop coordination and sense of smell. He lived for several days in an apartment and got familiar with the sounds coming from various household appliances.

Read original (pl)

Derwiszek to nieduży (do połowy łydki), zdrowy, pełny energii urwis, prowodyr wszelkich zabaw z rodzeństwem. Wszędzie go pełno, przemieszcza się z prędkością światła. Zna zabawy rozwijające sprawność i węch. Mieszkał kilkanaście dni w mieszkaniu i poznał odgłosy pochodzące z różnych domowych urządzeń.

About Derwisz

What life with Derwisz looks like

Derwisz is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ami Fundacja Pomocy Zwierzętom in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Derwisz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Derwisz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ami Fundacja Pomocy Zwierzętom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Derwisz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Derwisz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ami Fundacja Pomocy Zwierzętom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Derwisz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Derwisz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ami Fundacja Pomocy Zwierzętom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Derwisz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
