Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Arthur II von Ostetal - a good home is sought for this dog. I brought Arthur to my home over 4 years ago and initially had great fun with him. However, soon I became overwhelmed and then also problems arose during his training. We had to change methods after half a year as there was no progress. We worked together with an excellent dog trainer for 2 years to create a good foundation. He is a very strong-willed dog. He has bitten before. If interested, I can provide complete detailed information on why. He needs an experienced dog owner with enough time. He gets along great with small dogs. However, we had an incident about one and a half years ago and since then there have been problems depending on the distance. Otherwise, he is a loyal companion and very intelligent. The breeder's plan was to take him through the tests for hunting, but that didn't work out because I became so overwhelmed with his training. He can still fetch and has experience in this area. He also loves being in the water. He always wants to be at the starting line and has trouble calming down. Therefore, he needs a place where he can get what he needs. He is still very trainable and cheerful. Why I have to part with him. I broke up with my girlfriend after 4 years of relationship. I alone cannot and will not be able to meet the dog's needs. Thus, I made the most difficult decision for both our well-being. Additional information: Jagdhunde in Not e.V. Kornelia Ritter

About Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „

What life with Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ looks like

Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jagdhunde in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jagdhunde in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jagdhunde in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jagdhunde in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Deutsch Drahthaar „Arthur II von Ostetal „ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
