Dia (zusammen mit Dotty)

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten

Dia (together with Dotty) Race: EKH Gender: female Age: May 2026 At the shelter since: 30.07.2026 Dia is a lovely black cat who was found with her sister Dotty and brought to the shelter. The exact location of their find is unknown, but it is believed they were simply discarded and left to fend for themselves in a remote area. Dia is still a bit shy and timid, but she is curious and will gradually come out of her shell if given time and not rushed. She needs patient cat friends who can give her all the time in the world and have the patience to let her come to them. We would like to place Dia in a cat-friendly environment, either with a friendly cat or a confident existing first cat. She may eventually enjoy outdoor time, so her new home should be in a suitable environment away from roads and railways. Do you have a question about this animal? About Dia (zusammen mit Dotty)

What life with Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) looks like

Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Name in Kassel.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dia (zusammen mit Dotty), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dia (zusammen mit Dotty)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Name handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Name will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Name early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dia (zusammen mit Dotty) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
