Diesel

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Our Diesel is a handsome mixed-breed male dog with light, slightly longer fur and very expressive eyes. We cannot say who gave him this name, but it is up to each adopter to choose a fitting name. For Diesel is far from being a typical Diesel. He is very calm and withdrawn. Why, you ask? In shelters, there are dogs who adapt more or less well and somehow arrange themselves with the situation, and then there are dogs who despair or seem on the verge of giving up. Diesel belongs to the latter. And we are urgently seeking a home for this still young, but so sad and insecure puppy. Due to a lack of affection and mental stimulation, Diesel has become what he seems to be now: a shy, fearful fawn that does not understand the world. Diesel did not deserve his fate, no dog here did. So, we are trying to make amends for what we can. Find a home for this doggy heart. A friendly dog who can convey security to Diesel is welcome. A cat is no hindrance either. Diesel will remain nice. What does Diesel need? First, patience: waiting until Diesel settles in and builds trust. Then, responsibility: watching over and protecting, but also giving space and trust in the right measure. Additionally: affection, not pressure. And lastly: the appropriate consequence for the given situation. You say that can't be so hard, right? It isn't. But to carry and follow all these things, we wish for Diesel to be adopted by dog-experienced people who approach our dear Dieselschatz with friendliness and confidence in small steps and win the heart of this wonderful dog. Dog training classes come later. Everything else too. And then, one fine day, this person, these people, will wake up, smile, and think: I have found a lifelong friend. You will hold Diesel close to your heart and whisper to him: "Nothing can separate us anymore, I promise you." If you want to take on this wonderful and grateful task and give our Diesel a home, please contact his coordinator (please call only during the day). Our coordinators are known for their kindness and competence. Even after adoption, you will be advised and supported if needed and desired. May your person discover you, Diesel. So you no longer have to struggle. "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our life whole." /unknown © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

Also versuchen wir gutzumachen, was gutzumachen geht. Was braucht Diesel? - All rights reserved

About Diesel

What life with Diesel looks like

Diesel is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diesel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diesel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diesel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diesel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diesel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diesel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diesel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
