DIMI

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 12 months

Dimi is a unique, mature dog born around 2016, which means he is currently about 10 years old. He is in the autumn of his life - he spent his youth in a terrible place, far from love, and now he only wants peace, stability and warmth. He came under our care from Wojtyszki - he spent many years there deprived of affection, attention and true human contact. And yet he did not give up: there is still a quiet hope for his own safe corner! Dimi is a dog with an extremely gentle, calm and faithful nature. He is initially a bit shy and cautious with strangers, and when he feels uncertain, he can bark at newly met people - there is not a bit of aggression in this, it is only a natural expression of fear and old traumas that slowly fall from him. It takes a moment of patience, a calm approach and a kind word, and this mature gentleman will open his devoted heart and become strongly attached to the caregiver. Very importantly, Dimi can walk on a leash - leisurely, relaxing walks by his side are a pure pleasure. The shelter box is an extremely unfair place for the 10-year-old veteran from Wojtyszki - Dimi urgently needs a warm bed and a person who will show him what a real home is! Why is the unique and subtle Dimi a perfect companion for you? Genial attitude towards other dogs: Dimi accepts other dogs wonderfully! His gentle and harmonious nature makes it possible for him to live in a house where there is already a friendly resident dog. Model walking manners: He handles the leash nicely and calmly, making him a great partner for quiet, daily walks. Deep, touching loyalty: After years of loneliness in Wojtyszki, he can create an incredibly strong, loyal bond with a person who gives him his heart. Golden autumn of life: As a 10-year-old, stable senior, he brings peace, harmony and great, touching gratitude to the house. We are looking for a peaceful, responsible and empathetic home for Dimi - people who are patient and understanding, who will give him a moment to get used to the new environment and allow him to spend the rest of his days in the warmth of the home fire. Give him a safe haven, and this rescued old man will repay you with lifelong love!

Dimi to pies o niezwykle łagodnej, spokojnej i wiernej naturze. Wystarczy chwila cierpliwości, spokojne podejście i dobre słowo, by ten dojrzały dżentelmen otworzył swoje oddane serce i mocno przywiązał się do opiekuna. Genialny stosunek do innych psów: Dimi wspaniale akceptuje inne czworonogi! Złota jesień życia: Jako 10-letni, stateczny senior wnosi do domu wyciszenie, harmonię i ogromną, rozczulającą wdzięczność. Szukamy dla Dimiego domu spokojnego, odpowiedzialnego i pełnego empatii – ludzi cierpliwych i wyrozumiałych, którzy dadzą mu chwilę na oswojenie się z nowym otoczeniem i pozwolą mu godnie, w cieple domowego ogniska spędzić resztę swoich dni. Podaruj mu bezpieczną przystań, a ten ocalony staruszek odwdzięczy się dozgonną miłością na całe życie!

About DIMI

What life with DIMI looks like

DIMI is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting DIMI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DIMI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DIMI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DIMI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DIMI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DIMI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know DIMI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
