Dingo

Lurcher · Male · Young · 2 years

Age: Approximately 2024 Sex: Male Breed: Lurcher Neutered: Yes Contact person: Team 1. Adoption fee: 10000 SEK Mediated from: K9 rescue Currently located: Foster home in Ireland Can live with dogs: Yes Can live with cats: Unknown Can live with children aged: 9-13 years and up Which environment is suitable: Can live in a quieter area Activity level: Low-medium Adopter's dog experience: Has previous dog experience Dingo was found exhausted on the side of the road in Ireland during the heatwave. He is now in a foster home. Dingo is a friendly and thoughtful boy who likes to sleep on the couch for many hours a day, preferably under a blanket. A couch potato, in fact. The foster home has managed to convince him that walks are not so bad after all, and he is happy to meet his dog friends. He has gone to the city and had a pup cup at a café. They passed a construction site where there was some loud noise, which he found scary, but in general, he is a composed dog. Soft toys and being tucked in by the foster home at night are high on his list. He uses his nose a lot and might enjoy nosework from time to time. The most important thing for Dingo seems to be getting love and attention. Snuggling on the foster mother's lap while she works, being petted, occasionally meeting friends, and taking lovely walks is very important to him. He would likely be able to share a home with another dog. Dingo weighs 22 kilograms and measures approximately 78 centimeters to the top of his head. About Dingo

What life with Dingo looks like

Dingo is a medium-sized young adult lurcher dog waiting at Hundar Utan Hem in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dingo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dingo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundar Utan Hem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dingo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dingo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundar Utan Hem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dingo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dingo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundar Utan Hem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dingo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
