DINGO

Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Dingo is just under 3 years old. He was found in very poor condition—extremely thin, clearly malnourished, with dull and sparse fur. At first, Dingo can be a bit shy and charmingly clumsy, but as soon as he feels more confident, he reveals his true nature: he’s a cheerful, warm-hearted dog who deeply craves human companionship and quality time together. Walking on a leash was completely new to him, but at the shelter he’s bravely learning the rules and getting better and better with each passing day. He loves to walk right beside his caregiver, because that’s when he feels calm and safe. However, as soon as another dog appears on the horizon, his curiosity immediately kicks in, and Dingo happily wants to say hello. In interactions with other dogs, he’s open and able to communicate, though occasionally he might respond to teasing. Therefore, any potential cohabitation with another dog should be preceded by a calm introduction and a joint walk. There’s strong evidence that Dingo may never have experienced a real home life before. Despite this, we picture him as a dog who, after a walk, joyfully jumps onto the couch and falls asleep nestled close to his caregiver. He has plenty of youthful energy and puppy-like joy, yet at the same time, he has an enormous need for closeness. This is definitely not a “backyard” dog—we’re looking for a responsible, patient, and understanding guardian who will show him what a real home and a sense of security really mean. Dingo will surely repay you with boundless loyalty, faithfulness, and a beautiful, strong bond. He’s a dog who knows how to love with all his heart. We invite you to come for a meet-and-greet walk and get to know Dingo personally—perhaps it’s precisely your trusting gaze that he’s waiting for. Volunteer contact: 880 480 743

PL·Show original

Kontakt do wolontariusza: 880 480 743

About DINGO

What life with DINGO looks like

DINGO is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Kraków in Kraków.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting DINGO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DINGO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kraków handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DINGO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DINGO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kraków will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DINGO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DINGO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kraków early rather than rehoming privately; they know DINGO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
