Poldek

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

At the end of the yard stood a kennel. Inside it was he. Tied to a leash, lying on cold ground. So quiet that it seemed as if he had stopped believing that anyone would notice him. He is about 10 years old. Ten years of life that instead of security and love brought him loneliness. Ten years that no one will ever give back. It's really hard to understand how you can pass by such suffering every day and do nothing. How can you look at a dog that spends his whole life on a leash and consider that everything is fine. My heart breaks at the thought that for someone he was just invisible. During such interventions it's hard to restrain emotions. We wonder how much suffering a dog can endure before it completely fades away? Today he is safe. He has his name - Poldek. Now he has to learn that a human can also mean good ❤️ Please... keep your fingers crossed for Poldek. We won't take back those ten years, but we'll do everything to make the next ones full of love that he never experienced before. We hope that a person will find him who will want to give him a real home forever ❤️ He is under the care of TPZ ARKADIA in Głowno. ☎️509 104 718

Na końcu podwórka stał kojec. W nim on. ☎️509 104 718

About Poldek

What life with Poldek looks like

Poldek is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Poldek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Poldek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Poldek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Poldek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Poldek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Poldek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Poldek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
