Adopt Dino

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Dino is a mixed-breed puppy, likely born in March 2025, who was found abandoned and brought to the animal shelter of our Hungarian partner organization. He is a very friendly, playful pup who enjoys being petted. He is a bundle of joy, enthusiastic about every activity, and delighted to play with his doggy friends and curiously explore the world. Of course, he still has a lot to learn, but as he is an intelligent fellow, it won't be difficult for him. He would make a great family dog and would also feel comfortable in a family with older, understanding children. Dino gets along wonderfully with all his animal companions and would be a great choice as a second dog for a playful buddy. His behavior around cats is not known. He is looking for loving and active people who have plenty of free time to spend with him, not living in the city center, and who already have some experience in dog care. The puppy stands 34 cm at the shoulder and weighs 9 kg.

About Dino

What life with Dino looks like

Dino is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
