Dixi

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Dixi has found a home! His story. Dixi is an adorable puppy with big plans! This little sunbeam is just three months old, weighs 9 kg, and is expected to develop into a magnificent, medium-sized dog. At first, Dixi is still a bit of a reserved charmer – he likes to observe before he gets going. But don't worry: his initial shyness fades within minutes to pure puppy joy and affection! Once the ice is broken, Dixi becomes an incredibly friendly and open cuddle pro. In terms of plush paws, Dixi is already a pro! He lives peacefully in his Romanian foster home with three cats and shows absolute familiarity and friendliness in handling. Compatibility with others with other dogs is still on the schedule. Dixi apparently isn't fazed by other animals and is curious. A positive and loving accompaniment for further socialization is requested, so that Dixi can grow into a confident dog buddy! Dixi is a little rough diamond ready to learn the dog ABCs. We are looking for a family that is aware they won't get a "ready-made" dog but a puppy with all its challenges, small puddles, and the gnawing of objects included. It's the time to set clear rules playfully. A visit to a puppy group could also be helpful. Later, Dixi will enter the "teenie phase" – a time when he will test boundaries and develop his own ideas, which may differ from his humans' expectations. Here, he needs consistent but always loving guidance that gives him security. Ready to face this challenge? Dixi has packed his suitcase and is waiting for your request. Dixi travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He also has his EU pet passport at hand. Even a foster home would definitely make him happy. Thank you, Brita, for giving Dixi a name and thus an identity! As of: 07.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 07.12.2025

About Dixi

What life with Dixi looks like

Dixi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dixi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dixi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dixi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dixi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dixi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dixi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dixi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
