Maisy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Maisy has had a tough start in life. She was abandoned outside the city with her mother and siblings. When the animal rescue team arrived, only Maisy and one sister had survived, while the mother and the other puppies did not survive. As if that wasn't enough, Maisy contracted parvovirus in her weakness. But Maisy is a true fighter! She is currently in a Romanian veterinary clinic, receiving comprehensive care and recovering better every day. She will soon be able to move to the Fantanele shelter. Her skin is currently suffering from stress, poor initial conditions, and possibly mite infestation, but this can be positively influenced by good care, nutrients, and medication. The beautiful thing about her: Despite all the suffering, she has not lost her trust in humans. The now only four months old female dog is incredibly sweet, very people-oriented, and soaks up every caress like a little sponge. You can tell Maisy just wants to be held, loved, and protected. With her loyal gaze and her gentle nature, she automatically brings a smile to the faces of the vet and helpers. Maisy is a young female dog and still has a lot to learn: house training, being alone, and leash training are just as much a part of it as coming to rest after a colorful puppy life. A visit to a positively working dog school would make her start in a new life much easier. Once she has learned the dog ABC, she will certainly become a great companion for life! For this sweet mouse, currently about 30 cm tall, we are looking for a loving home or a foster home that shows her how beautiful a safe dog life can be. Maisy is completely compatible with other dogs, she is looking forward to her fellow dogs in the Fantanele shelter again. Cats not yet tested, but due to her young age, she brings good conditions for a careful introduction to get used to everything. Maisy will be able to enter with a microchip, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free, together with her EU pet passport. After a positive preliminary check, she can be placed for a deposit. A foster home would also be a great stepping stone for the pretty little mouse! Thank you, Vivien O., thanks to your donation, Maisy has a chance at a happy dog life! Status: 21.09.2026 Further information on the preliminary check and deposit

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.09.2026

About Maisy

What life with Maisy looks like

Maisy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
