Diya

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Diya is a delicate furball, found together with Feyza on the street and now lives in a small intake station that barely has any free capacity. There, the grizzled, rather frail cat lives cramped with around 30 fellow animals in a small enclosure. Diya is brave and described as rather friendly when someone knows her. The beautiful, young lady with a hint of a tiger pattern under her elegant gray fur gets along well with the other cats and even knows friendly dogs. 😘In principle, the dainty cat, after proper acclimation, would be suitable as an outdoor cat, but she could also live in an apartment with a secure balcony. Diya should be able to regularly sniff fresh air and feel the wind on her small snout. Diya is not rehomed in single housing. Diya is a very gentle kitten that needs to find a caring home soon with purring playmates. Who rescues Diya from her cramped cage and gives her a worry-free, happy life? Please note:. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Diya

What life with Diya looks like

Diya is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
