Doggenmischling Mima &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

I am female, microchipped, vaccinated, and born in 2019. I have been waiting for a new home since June 2021. I am approximately 70 cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Mima is a surrender dog from our region. Purchased somewhere nearby on a farm, Mima grew up rather freely in the circle of her family, with a child and an older Rottweiler. In the middle of her growth, the older Rotti weakened, and the insecure Mima sensed her chance at taking over, unfortunately so rigorously that the Rottweiler was only saved by a vet. The handling with the female dog also showed that here the only dog is simply a laid-back and friendly companion whose upbringing ran a little on its own. Unfortunately, Mima's fundamentally different character traits were not adequately addressed in her first year of life. A visit to a good dog training class would have certainly put her on the right path from our perspective. She was overprotected, soothed and comforted when facing strangers, and there was little contact with other fellow animals. She lacked boundaries, which she needs to feel secure. To that, she has an overexcited temperament and a mass of power; an exact breed was not asked for when purchased, one can only guess. After that, she had to yield to the older dog as a younger one, which we find very praiseworthy. According to her previous owners, she has never shown any notable aggression towards her family or acquaintances, and she is also friendly towards people at our shelter. Nevertheless, she is led with a muzzle and accepts that very well. On walks, she usually passes by other dogs well and enjoys the hours in nature. Swimming games are also a welcome change for her lively temperament. Behind the fence and in her small domain, she does not like to be observed by strangers and makes that known loudly. Outside, she goes with anyone who feels physically stronger than her. She is very conscientious about cleanliness, will guard her territory well, has a pronounced prey drive, can be left alone, and would prefer to be an individual dog. She is a cuddle fanatic, a soul comforter, and an individual princess. In a family, only with steadfast children and without other pets. The rural region is preferred to avoid exposing her to unnecessary stimuli. Experience is essential, as is the willingness to continue working on leash manners and basic obedience, as well as shared downtime for relaxation. Physical exertion is important, with the emphasis more on head work. In everyday life, it must be clear that Mima no longer needs to make all decisions herself due to good guidance. Who might explain the difference to our sporty individual princess between a pea and a large pea in the future, so that her dream of a happy ending can come true?

About Doggenmischling Mima &#8211

What life with Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 looks like

Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Doggenmischling Mima &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Doggenmischling Mima &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Doggenmischling Mima &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
