Adopt Dolina

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile Age: Born around 2019. Gender: Female. Spayed: YesCharacter: Shy but curious and friendly Size: Approximately 50 cmIn shelter since: April 2020 This shy lady carries the name Dolina. After a harsh and dangerous life on the streets, she found her way to a safe shelter with us. When Dolina first came to us, she wanted nothing to do with people. The years on the streets had left their mark. She preferred to stay in her safe little house, hoping that visitors would leave quickly. She would hide in the farthest corner. Now it's better. Dolina is still not one of the dogs that run up to people with joy and enjoy the time with them. But she is no longer completely frozen with fear when someone enters her pen. Curious, she peeks around the corner and watches what is happening around her. She now approaches people willingly and one can see she wants to! The other dogs in her pen give her great support, with whom she gets along very well. The best for the sweet mouse would of course be a family that with a lot of time and patience can fade the scars on her soul and bring the light back into her eyes. Without pressure and with a lot of love, make sure she feels that she can finally let her guard down for the first time in her life and trustfully fall into the arms of her family. We hope that these special people will soon discover Dolina before she retreats completely into her snail shell and gives up. Dolina only needs a little push to take another step forward!Who would like to give this special soul a future? If you are interested in Dolina, please fill out our application form or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Dolina is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted for dogs over 12 months old before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. The sponsorship of Dolina has been taken over by Verena B., who thus ensures a full food bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

Steckbrief Alter: ca. 2019 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Dolina

What life with Dolina looks like

Dolina is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
