Dolly

Female · Adult · 4 years

Say hello to Dolly! Dolly is an affectionate girl who simply loves to roll around showing off. She's also super playful, so you will find her chasing her toys or even flies! In true cat fashion, Dolly can be an independent lady, and likes to snooze in her favourite spots or watch the world go by. But she has oodles of love to give to her new owners and she will make the most perfect companion. As Dolly has not experienced living with children and can be spooked by busy environments, she would be better suited to a home with children of teen age and above who can give her the time, patience and quiet that she needs to settle in. Once she's warmed up to all household members and investigated her environment, she'll be the most wonderful addition to the family. Dolly can't wait to have outside access as she stares longingly out the window a lot of the time, and has so much energy to burn! She is a young lively girl, and would benefit from a private garden when she feels safe and confident. Please note she will also need 2x permanent litter trays in the home. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Dolly, you can e-mail our rehoming team on () to register your interest. the cat you have contacted us about.

About Dolly

What life with Dolly looks like

Dolly is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
