Adopt Domino (& Sudoku)

Chihuahua · Female · Adult · 4 years

Meet Domino & Sudoku, an adorable, bonded pair of Chihuahua Cross's looking for a quiet home to call their own. They are based at our Old Windsor Centre This friendly pair haven't had much socialisation in their life, so they are quite timid and lacking in confidence. They are looking for a home that can give them time, patience and understanding to help them learn to enjoy life in a home. During their time here they have made small strides forward and although still worried by people, once bonded they have enjoyed some fuss and attention. Due to their worry and uncertainty in the outdoors, Domino and Sudoku would benefit from a private garden where they can relax, sniff and get used to the space this provides them. They may even start to play and have some fun. Walks may not be what is best for this pair until they have grown in confidence. Domino and Sudoku have only ever known other Chihuahua types so other breeds have caused them some anxiety. Once they are ready to explore the wider world, new owners will need to help them navigate other dogs and support them making other dog friends. In their new home, they may be able to live with an existing small dog who is calm, friendly and happy to share their space with Domino and Sudoku whilst they adjust to a new environment. This duo are a very sweet, bonded pair who like to be together, often sharing a bed and checking in on each other. Domino and Sudoku will make wonderful companions, bringing plenty of joy and a lot of reward watching them develop and their characters begin to show. About Domino (& Sudoku)

What life with Domino (& Sudoku) looks like

Domino (& Sudoku) is a small adult chihuahua dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Domino (& Sudoku), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Domino (& Sudoku)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Domino (& Sudoku) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Domino (& Sudoku) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Domino (& Sudoku) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Domino (& Sudoku) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Domino (& Sudoku) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
