Dori

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Date of birth: 22.04.2025 EU vaccination record: vaccinated, microchipped, Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: no Dori had to endure a hard life even as a puppy. She was tied up on a chain with no protective shelter, exposed to the summer heat and the winter cold. Adequate food and water were far from a given for her. On top of that, she had to cope with people who frightened her. It's no wonder Dori was very fearful at first. But since she was rescued and is now safe, she has undergone a wonderful transformation. The once insecure female dog has become a happy, friendly, and grateful companion. With new people, Dori is initially cautious and needs some time to build trust. But those who give her that time will get to know a truly wonderful dog who enjoys affection and can finally enjoy life. Dori is about 1.5 years old and 35 cm tall. For her, we wish for a calm, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace. People who offer her security and patience will help her continue to build trust and leave her past behind. Who will give Dori a safe place and show her how beautiful a life without fear can be? Almost all of our dogs are extremely friendly toward people, dogs, and cats in Romania. Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that all dogs must be trained and integrated into family life in their new home. If you would like to give Dori a home, please call the following phone number: In a personal conversation, we can answer your questions and discuss our adoption criteria. Our dogs are preferably placed within a radius of 80 km around Tholey.

About Dori

What life with Dori looks like

Dori is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at TierOase ThoMa e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TierOase ThoMa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TierOase ThoMa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TierOase ThoMa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
