Hiya, my name is Doris and I’m a beautiful tortoiseshell girlie. I’m 14 years old and sadly find myself at Raystede due to my owner’s ill health. I’ve been home alone for a few months while my owner was in hospital, so I’d love to find my purrfect home with owners who can give me the attention I love. My personality: I’m a shy girl at first, but once I get to know you, I’m incredibly affectionate! I love being stroked and sitting on laps. I’m also very playful with my toys, especially when catnip is involved. I certainly don’t act or look my age! I can be wary of strangers, especially men, and may hide if I’m feeling nervous. I’ve been used to a single elderly lady owner, but I always enjoyed the company of visitors, once I’d warmed up to them. Children: I’ve not met young children, but I’d be happy to live with sensible, older teens. Other animals: I wouldn’t like to share my space with other pets, so no cats or dogs for me please! Additional needs: I was kept indoors in my previous home, but I’d absolutely love a nice garden to call my own. I enjoyed sunbathing and patrolling the balcony in my previous home, so I’d love a garden to explore. It is not known if I will wander or hunt, so I’ll need to live away from busy roads. I have a history of cystitis (on my previous vet notes from 2015-2019) but it is not known if I have experienced this more recently. The Cattery Team are monitoring me closely and I am not currently displaying any symptoms. My new owners will need to keep an eye on my toileting habits. Can you offer me my purrfect home?
