Adopt Dr Motte

Persian · Male · Adult · 4 years

– loves partner cuddles Status: available Name: Dr Motte Breed: Persian Mix Gender: male/neutered Color: black and white Age: 3-4 years Old Gets along with: fellow animals Dr Motte is a very affectionate Persian Mix tomcat, around 3-4 years old. He was brought to us along with his entire more or less fluffy cat clique as part of a seizure by the veterinary office. Dr Motte wasn't just heavily matted, and his entire fur was one big turtle shell, but he had also wove in some cobwebs in his mat, which led to his name – that's why he also had to be completely shorn. Dr Motte likes his current somewhat hairless look and would like to be combed regularly in the future! To fellow animals, Dr Motte is incredibly social and relaxed, he loves to lie in a cuddle cave with one of his friends – social body contact is very important to him! The cuddle king still has a bit of respect for people. So he currently doesn't approach people actively – but he watches carefully from his safe cave, waiting for the right moment to leave cover! With always the same favorite people and especially a friendly fellow animal as a teacher, with the help of a little or two treats, Dr Motte will quickly build trust and turn into a cuddly chill sofa cat. In a household with a nice existing cat or -tomcat, the very social Persian cat will quickly learn trust and continue to thaw! An extraction with one of his current cuddle friends would of course be perfect, but it's not a must. Wunschzuhause: For Dr Motte, we are looking for no overly turbulent home – preferably with a later traffic-calmed walk or secured balcony – if there are children in the household, please make sure they are cat-savvy. Contact:. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Dr Motte

What life with Dr Motte looks like

Dr Motte is a adult persian cat waiting at Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dr Motte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dr Motte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dr Motte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dr Motte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dr Motte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dr Motte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dr Motte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
