Adopt DREI

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Adult · 6 years

ADOPTION - possible only to Austria, Switzerland (not spayed), Holland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and other countries where the entry of such a dog is allowed. STILL TWO - lovely - LADIES - are looking for - (MORENA has found her home)! Photo 1-3 - VICKY - Am. Staff Mix, female, 6.5 years, born 04.09.2019, SH 50 cm, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, EU passport. Waiting in Valencia - I am a wonderful princess, but I have gone through hell (despite my young age) - from the killing place where I was taken, to a residence where I was attacked by dogs and labeled as guilty because of my breed, although I was completely innocent, just trying to defend myself against the biting attacks. I was really innocent, but because of my breed I was automatically blamed. Loving animal protectors realized this and moved me to another boarding house where I feel better since my arrival. They treated all my wounds that were inflicted on me and I realize every day that they understand me and finally I am seen and treated as a poor soul. Unfortunately, since the attacks by many dogs against me, I don't like other dogs - the whole pack attacked me then, which I miraculously survived. Unfortunately, for this reason, I must be the only dog in the house. I am super affectionate with all people, I love children and I simply need a family that understands me and accepts me as I am. Which family understands and gives me a chance? I would be the happiest on earth! I am waiting in Valencia Photo 4+5 - AMIRA - Am. Stafford Terrier, 8 years, born 02.02.2018, SH 55 cm, 29 kg, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed. - Amira has been with us for two years, she was a great dog, with a wonderful character and good with other dogs and cats, but...a few months ago an adoption was considered for her, it seemed a very good adoption, all adoption protocols were followed, but her adopter did not follow a single guideline we had given her for Amira, and we had to take Amira back because she could no longer get along with the other dogs. Amira is now with a dog trainer, but the trauma she suffered with her adopter a few months ago (she was with her for two months) is so big that she cannot currently live with other dogs. This does not mean that she is not a wonderful dog and very affectionate with people and children. She needs a family that loves and understands her and if you could help her overcome her traumas better 🙏. About DREI

What life with DREI looks like

DREI is a adult american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Step by Paw e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting DREI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DREI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Step by Paw e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DREI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DREI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Step by Paw e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DREI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DREI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Step by Paw e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know DREI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
