Drunia

Female · Senior · 15 years

The animal is under the care of a foundation and is not staying at the shelter. Individuals interested in adopting are asked to contact the foundation directly. Drunia captivates at first sight. Her stunning silver-gray coat and long, soft fur make it hard to look away. But her beauty is just the beginning—Drunia also has an exceptional personality. She’s a cat who loves the whole world—the people, other cats, and everything happening around her. Since she moved into her foster home, she’s shown us her true character, revealing that she’s brimming with energy, curiosity, and joy for life. She’s a girl with a strong personality. Drunia talks, chirps, comments on everyday life, and follows her human every step of the way, always wanting to be close by. She loves playing—chasing games, toy mice, and anything else she can grab with her paws. She adores food, loves kneading soft blankets, and above all, she loves people. She’s incredibly affectionate and craves the presence of a caregiver with whom she can share her daily life. Before coming into the foundation’s care, Drunia was severely neglected and sick. She arrived at the shelter in poor condition, but thanks to the care she received in her foster home, she’s undergone a remarkable transformation. Once she overcame her illnesses, she became a completely different cat—today, she has a beautiful, well-groomed coat and has gained some weight, though she still remains a petite little cat. She’s undergone a full diagnostic workup, had spaying surgery, and received a fresh dental check-up. Drunia has been diagnosed with asthma, which we’re treating with inhalations. Unfortunately, tests also confirmed a positive result for FeLV, or feline leukemia virus. For this reason, we’re looking for a home for her with another cat who’s an FeLV carrier or with other animals. The prospective guardian should be aware of the need to regularly monitor her health and be prepared to provide her with attentive care. We’re searching for a home for Drunia that’s full of love, closeness, and understanding—a place where she can continue to enjoy life, play, chat with her humans, and show every day just how special she is. Key information about Drunia: – Spayed – Vaccinated – Dewormed – Microchipped – FIV negative/FELV positive (PCR test) – Gets along well with other cats – Has undergone a dental check-up – Has treated asthma The cat is at an age where there’s no time to wait. Drunia needs an adoption now—we’re certain that this tender little cat dreams of nothing more than someone who’ll cuddle her, give her security, and shower her with love. Contact for adoption: Luiza – 881 534 600 We suggest reviewing the pre-adoption questionnaire and coming to the shelter with the completed form already filled out: Note: When deciding to adopt a cat or considering adoption, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag for transporting cats. Before adoption, make sure your home/apartment 🏠 is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure windows and balconies.

To dziewczyna z charakterem. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Drunia

What life with Drunia looks like

Drunia is a small senior cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Note from the shelter: Requires tube feeding due to mouth ulcers, has cat flu, matted fur, urgent medical needs

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drunia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drunia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drunia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drunia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drunia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drunia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drunia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
