Adopt Drunia

Female · Senior · 15 years

The view of Druni breaks the heart. This 14-year-old kitten is a picture of years of neglect and misfortune. But Drunia does not give up - she is a wonderful, gentle, kind girl. Cicia is fed through a gastric tube because sores in her mouth made it impossible for her to eat. She has a cat cold and came to the animal shelter while pregnant. Her beautiful fur is now terribly matted. Her age and health condition mean she is urgently looking for a home, as quickly as possible. Visited in her cage, Drunia purrs loudly, asks for petting, and with sad eyes begs not to be left behind. If she could, she would spend all her time simply snuggled against a warm hand, on someone's lap. A cat of this age does not have time to wait. Drunia needs adoption right now - we are sure that this gentle kitten doesn't dream of anything else as much as of someone who will hold her, give her safety and love. We suggest completing the pre-adoption questionnaire and coming to the animal shelter with the form already filled out: Attention: When deciding to adopt a cat or considering it, definitely bring a carrier or transport bag for cats to the animal shelter. Before adopting, make sure your home / apartment 🏠 is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure the windows and balcony.

Odwiedzona w klatce Drunia mruczy głośno, prosi o głaskanie i smutnymi oczkami błaga, by jej nie zostawiano. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Drunia

What life with Drunia looks like

Drunia is a small senior cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Note from the shelter: Requires tube feeding due to mouth ulcers, has cat flu, matted fur, urgent medical needs

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drunia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drunia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drunia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drunia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drunia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drunia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drunia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
