DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

Tobasco is an intake dog who came to us due to separation. We took our time getting to know each other. Tobasco didn't get enough refinement in his first life, at least not as much as would have been necessary for his size and mixed breed. Nevertheless, he is a loving companion with an overabundant temperament. Fortunately, his behaviors are more like the chaotic Labbi than the suspicious Caucasian. This applies to his braking function, his greeting rituals, and his judgment, which his body's mass brings. The only thing that can be discerned is that he can be still in a sitting position. We also suspect that the lack of stimulation due to the changed living situation also contributed to Tobasco's energy, like a recently pubertal youth. With female dogs, he is compatible by sympathy, and an unplanned meeting with male dogs also went more uneventfully than the previous owners had predicted. He places more value on the attention of two-legged beings, which makes him very suitable as a single dog. His need to be in the center would not be to his advantage. Tobasco knows how to live in an apartment, but he is more of a type for owners who have a cabin in the woods. He knows how to be alone and patiently waits for his family. He likes to watch over his home, but he should be allowed to do so in moderation. Here, he has adapted well to his four-legged neighbors, but he still reacts impatiently to approaches, and the future owner must be able to assert themselves. Also, patience and leash manners during encounters still need to be worked on to better manage him in unforeseen situations. Children are no problem, but they should be bigger and more stable. Other animals in the house are not his thing. In return, there is a lot of love, his cuddle times are sacred. His fur care is similar to that of an old German shepherd, regularly done, it's not a big magic or hassle. During the fur change, he sheds more fur, and one shouldn't be bothered by the dog hairs, which then belong to the inventory… Who would like to give our sharp, fast-aging but with a huge cuddle need a home where he can really let his hair down again? Thanks to his sponsors, an appropriate foster home in the nearby area is also in question for Tobasco. The foster home must be prepared to organize or discuss vet visits with us. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211

What life with DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 looks like

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know DSH-Labrador-Kaukasenmix Tobasco &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
