DSH Mix Ole &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

I am male, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around DSH Mix Ole &#8211. I have been waiting since January 2021 for a new home. I am around 65 cm tall. My caretakers at our shelter describe me as follows: Ole was found stray on a parking lot in Saxony and not reported missing. Generally, he shows good compatibility, but his temperament and puberty are currently hindering his ability to behave well in dog groups. We recommend working on visits to dog training classes for behavior improvement. This would also allow for basic command and leash training, as there is a significant amount of catch-up needed. However, Ole can be impressed by clear communication, and he is also willing to try his best with treats for good performance. He is athletic and energetic, with a situational overabundance of energy and must learn that there are limits to be respected. With his fundamentally good character, we see no problem if the new owners are ambitious about attending dog training classes and working together to learn the ropes. This would also help him overcome his small insecurities in everyday life with alternative tasks in the form of small exercises. While it is not immediately obvious, behind the playful young pup is sometimes an insecure little dog. From our perspective, Ole has not learned much, if anything, in life since he was no longer small and cute but became challenging, and we believe he had to leave. Positively, his cheerful and typical loving character with the willingness to do the greatest effort to do everything right to please his heart's desire is noticeable. Snuggling and playing inclusive... he even remembers the fun ball bath in his mind, so no ball needs to be purchased at adoption:). Who would like to take our Ole lovingly and consistently out of the game world and only visit him occasionally?.

About DSH Mix Ole &#8211

What life with DSH Mix Ole &#8211 looks like

DSH Mix Ole &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting DSH Mix Ole &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DSH Mix Ole &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DSH Mix Ole &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DSH Mix Ole &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DSH Mix Ole &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DSH Mix Ole &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know DSH Mix Ole &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
