Adopt Duke

Labrador Retriever · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Meet Duke, a lovely Labrador who has recently come into our care after showing signs of lameness. He is currently undergoing a full medical review as we work to support him in building strength and muscle in his back legs. At this stage, Duke is looking for a committed foster home with the view to adopt in the future, while we continue to investigate and manage his medical needs. He will need a patient and understanding home that can support him through this process and follow guidance from our veterinary team. Due to his condition, Duke is currently on strict rest and is unable to go out for walks. Because of this, it is essential that his new home has a large, secure garden with no steps, so he can safely access outdoor space when needed. We are looking for a home located close to the sanctuary, as Duke will require regular check-ups with our veterinary team. His adopters will need to be dedicated to his ongoing care and rehabilitation. Duke would be best suited to a dog-free home, with older children who can understand and respect his exercise restrictions and need for a calm environment.
