Dulux

Mixed Breed · Male

Dulux arrived at our shelter severely agitated, and in his behavior we saw a great distance, mistrust. Only after a few weeks did we decide to ask for help with grooming, so he could look his best. All the care took place in a kennel, as we knew that this was probably his first visit to such a place. Though he was highly stressed, it was clear that with the caregivers he had come to know very well, he felt support. Dulux can set boundaries and can sense fear or stress in humans. At the beginning, there was a problem with removing the leash after walks with some individuals, but now he is much better, and everything works out without issues with the caregivers he is with every day. He maintains cleanliness; so far, he has not destroyed anything. He is interested in toys. He knows commands—sit, fetch—and we practice the command stay, especially when removing the leash after walks and wanting to exit the kennel. Dulux may defend resources, so we try not to perform any actions near him if there is a bowl of food nearby. He is a wise dog and quickly learns everything. It’s wonderful to see his reactions to people he knows very well from a distance—he can recognize and get excited with joy. Dulux needs a home where the caregivers will give time, understanding, but also clear rules, so they can create a great relationship with the dog. We are looking for a home without children. On walks, he is also interested in other dogs—some he is open to playing with. If there is a resident dog in a potential home, an introduction will be necessary. Dulux is a dog that would need to meet several times to get to know and trust. Born around 2024, he is neutered, and will be vaccinated soon, already having his first vaccination. This animal must be handled with a muzzle. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Dulux to pies, z którym trzeba byłoby kilka razy się spotkać, by poznał i choć troche zaufał.Urodzony ok 2024 roku.Wykastrowany, niebawem zostanie zaszczepiony, jest już zaczipowany. About Dulux

What life with Dulux looks like

Dulux is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dulux, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dulux?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dulux on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dulux if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dulux already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dulux isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dulux and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
