Džedaj

Mixed Breed · Male

Jedaj was brought to us by Košice City Police - for the second time. After contacting the original owner, he gave him up due to a changed family situation. His beginnings with us were not easy, but time, stability and the right approach helped him greatly. Džedaj is a cheerful, playful and friendly puppy who loves people and has no problems with them. He enjoys human company, likes to join in games and most of all enjoys moments when someone pays attention to him. Toys, fetching and movement are his great joy - then his truly kind and "golden" nature shows. He gets along very well with female dogs and likes to play with them. He has been in contact with several female dogs without problems. With male dogs, he gets along according to his preferences, but can also find a good friend among them and function in the company of other dogs. Džedaj is an active dog that needs movement, mental stimulation and contact with his person. With clear boundaries and calm, consistent leadership, he is a balanced and pleasant companion. Džedaj is looking for a home with people who will give him time, movement and will actively spend time with him. He will be suitable as a buddy for a person or a family looking for a cheerful dog with a love for life and games.

SK·Show original

Džedaja k nám priviedla Mestská polícia Košice – už druhýkrát. Po kontaktovaní pôvodného majiteľa sa ho ten vzdal z dôvodu zmenenej rodinnej situácie. Začiatky u nás pre neho neboli jednoduché, no čas, stabilita a správny prístup mu veľmi pomohli. So sučkami vychádza veľmi dobre a veľmi rád sa s nimi hrá. Bol v kontakte s viacerými fenkami bez problémov. So psami – samcami vychádza podľa sympatií, no vie si medzi nimi nájsť aj dobrého kamaráta a fungovať v spoločnosti iných psov. Džedaj je aktívny psík, ktorý potrebuje pohyb, zamestnanie a kontakt so svojím človekom. Pri jasných hraniciach a pokojnom, dôslednom vedení je vyrovnaným a príjemným parťákom. Džedaj hľadá domov u ľudí, ktorí mu doprajú čas, pohyb a budú s ním aktívne tráviť čas. Bude vhodný ako parťák pre človeka alebo rodinu, ktorá hľadá veselého psíka s chuťou do života a hier.

About Džedaj

What life with Džedaj looks like

Džedaj is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at ÚVP Košice in Slovakia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Džedaj, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Džedaj?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ÚVP Košice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Džedaj on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Džedaj if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ÚVP Košice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Džedaj already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Džedaj isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ÚVP Košice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Džedaj and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
