Dżini

Male · Senior · 19 years

Džinni, an older Persian cat, was brought to our shelter after her previous home was lost. We knew the stress of losing a home could be overwhelming for an elderly cat, but we didn't hesitate in taking care of her due to the seriousness of the situation. We immediately took Džinni to see a veterinarian because she had no health records or information about recent check-ups, so a comprehensive diagnostic was necessary. She underwent blood and urine tests, an ultrasound, cardiology consultation, and dental examination. The results showed malnutrition, elevated potassium levels, and hypertension. Additionally, the cat requires dental treatment - her diseased teeth are causing her pain and will need to be removed. Unfortunately, she also has conjunctivitis. Currently, Džinni is receiving medication for hypertension, and thanks to regular eye drops, her ocular condition has improved significantly. She will have further check-ups and a dental procedure in the near future. Our groomer friend took care of her beautiful coat. As a Persian cat, her fur requires daily grooming. Unfortunately, it wasn't properly cared for for an extended period, so bringing it back to order was necessary.

Dodatkowo kotka wymaga leczenia stomatologicznego – chore zęby sprawiają jej ból i będą musiały zostać usunięte.

About Dżini

What life with Dżini looks like

Dżini is a senior cat waiting at Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań in Poznań.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dżini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dżini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dżini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dżini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dżini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dżini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dżini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
