Adopt Dżok

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

DOG: DŻOK vel. Lio, approx. 11 years old (born approx. 05/2014) Neutered, vaccinated and spayed Health: due to pancreatic issues can only eat low-fat food - currently receiving Bosh light. This is a happy, comforting dog who needs to trust, and once he does, he will give lots of kisses. Walks are mandatory, as sniffing is very important for him, sometimes even causing Dżok to go deaf. This is a resourceful dog - he will look everywhere, find everything, and if he can't find it, he will steal, hunt, unwrap. Excellent companion for hiking, and he also loves riding in cars. In dog interactions, he doesn't look for trouble, but if provoked, he may react - therefore, for adoption to a home with dogs, individual assessment is required. Smaller animals and cats in the home are not suitable. At the vet, he panics. Fears storms and fireworks - New Year's Eve is a tragedy. ADOPTION PROCEDURE 1. Fill out the Adoption Questionnaire from the link: 2. Meet the dog and a pre-adoption visit. 3. Sign the contract and hand over the dog. For questions, please call or write:

Drobniejsze zwierzęta i koty w domu odpadają. U weterynarza panikuje. Boi się burzy i fajerwerków – sylwester to tragedia. PROCEDURA ADOPCYJNA 1. Wypełnienie Ankiety Adopcyjnej z linku: 2. Zapoznanie z psem i wizyta przedadopcyjna. 3. About Dżok

What life with Dżok looks like

Dżok is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dżok, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dżok?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dżok on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dżok if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dżok already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dżok isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dżok and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
