Adopt Dżordż

Male · Adult · 6 years

Dżordż is a cat who has had a tough start. Upon arriving at the animal shelter, he was in poor condition and immediately required careful care. Currently, he resides in the cat hospital where he is slowly regaining his strength and coming to terms with his new situation. He is a quiet male cat who is still getting used to his new surroundings. He is still a bit withdrawn and cautious, so he needs time to feel safe. At first, he carefully observes his environment and gets to know people at his own pace. He does not seek attention aggressively, but a patient and calm approach will certainly help him gain more confidence. Dżordż is a cat who most needs stability, peace, and a sense of security right now. We believe that with the support of a loving caregiver, he will be able to leave behind the difficult experiences and begin a new chapter of his life. We are looking for a forever home for him, one that will give him the time, surround him with care, and show him that from now on, only good awaits him. Medical details are provided by the veterinarian. We invite you to fill out the pre-adoption survey and come to the animal shelter with the completed survey: Before adopting, make sure your home/apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Note: When deciding to adopt a cat or considering it, please bring a cat carrier or transport container to the animal shelter.

Dżordż to kot, który ma za sobą trudny start. Do Schroniska trafił w złym stanie i od razu wymagał troskliwej opieki. Obecnie przebywa w kocim szpitalu, gdzie powoli odzyskuje siły i dochodzi do siebie. To spokojny kocurek, który wciąż oswaja się z nową sytuacją. Jest jeszcze nieco wycofany i ostrożny, dlatego potrzebuje czasu, aby poczuć się bezpiecznie. Najpierw uważnie obserwuje otoczenie i poznaje ludzi we własnym tempie.

About Dżordż

What life with Dżordż looks like

Dżordż is a adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dżordż, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dżordż?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dżordż on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dżordż if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dżordż already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dżordż isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dżordż and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
