Adopt Edda C

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Name Edda Born around April 2025 Gender female dog Breed mixed breed Size medium growing (as of September 2025, approx. 35-40 cm) foster home Edda is currently in the care of our Romanian animal welfare friends in Campulung. She can travel once we find a foster home (preferably with adoption intentions) in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area. The age given here is often an estimate, as we don't always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Dumped on a landfill, placed in a bag next to a container, that's how I and my sister Feli were found by a woman, who then brought us to the animal shelter. Here, we were first cared for and nurtured until we regained our strength and stood on our own two feet. This has been successful, as I now brim with energy and have been having a good time. My foster mother Oana says I'm a bit love-crazed and make everyone laugh. I don't just want to explore the animal shelter grounds and eventually view the kennel as my home; I want to find a real home with heartwarming people. I'm already quite large and continue to grow. I can't tell you how big I'll be. The start of a new life in a home full of love, joy, and security can now come. I'm ready and am in the starting blocks. Will you give the start signal so we can find each other? What should my new home be like? Dog experience desirable but not necessary We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give them a second chance at a responsible home. The animal shelter in Campulung is also supported by a charity. If you don't live in our catchment area, it's possible to adopt a Fellnase through Soul Dogs. If you're interested in this great dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. Click an image to enlarge.

About Edda C

What life with Edda C looks like

Edda C is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Edda C, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Edda C?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Edda C on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Edda C if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Edda C already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Edda C isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Edda C and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
