Eddy

Beagle · Male · Adult · 7 years

Eddy is a dog with character - a dog who has probably had to assert himself often in his difficult past. His body tells a story, and even though we don't know it in detail, it gives a hint that his life has not always been easy. We want to look to the future, because we want Eddy to catch up on everything he has missed: safety, peace, affection and a life in which he can simply be a dog. Eddy is a typical Beagle. On a walk, his nose is always on the ground, his tail confidently stretched up to the sky. In the city, he was unimpressed by the many stimuli - city traffic is no obstacle for him and he masters walks confidently. The human is welcome to Eddy, he likes to accept closeness and also leans trustingly. However, he currently does not get along well with males and shows this clearly. His future humans should be aware that work and consistent training are necessary here. With females, he gets along well. We would like to place Eddy as a single dog and that makes him an emergency for us. Eddy would like to report again. 06.03.26: He continues to make great progress and has now integrated much better into the pack. Eddy learns every day and shows more and more how well he can assess situations. His attitude is very clear: Not every male is automatically a friend - but not every one is an enemy either. Eddy has also recovered very well physically. His body has visibly regenerated and he appears significantly stronger and more stable. He especially enjoys his cuddles - he really likes closeness and affection. Eddy at a glance • Age: approx. 7 years • Breed: Beagle • Size: approx. 45-50 cm • Departure: expected in 4 months ⸻ Eddy travels with you: • Serbian pet passport • Microchip • vaccinations (rabies & infectious diseases) • deworming & parasite treatment • neutered • 4D test (negative) • rabies titer test (for EU entry) ❤️ Placement process After a positive preliminary check and the conclusion of a protection contract with a deposit, Eddy travels 100% legally and transparently to the EU via TRACES NT. ⸻ Hast du dich in Eddy verliebt? About Eddy

What life with Eddy looks like

Eddy is a adult beagle dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
