Eddy

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

I am Eddy, a clever fellow with great potential on the lookout for a suitable dog-experienced home. I am no beginner dog, but rather a small rough diamond with edges – but that’s also what makes me exciting. With the right people by my side, I can really develop well. That’s who I am: I came to the animal shelter because my previous people were overwhelmed. Here, I show myself to be really motivated – especially when food is involved. Working with me is fun because I love to participate. I especially enjoy head and nose work. Outdoors, I’m still not entirely sovereign: I react to other dogs if they aren’t handled well. And strangers also make me a bit unsure – then it can happen that I go forward. But with good management, that works better. I am no cuddly dog who wants to be constantly touched. If something gets too much for me, I make that very clear through my body language. Those who can read me have much fewer problems with me – I communicate quite honestly. I also tend to defend resources like my toys. With training and fair “trades,” this can be well managed. With other dogs, I am compatible depending on the sympathy – that would have to be checked on an individual basis. I wish for dog-experienced people who work with me and foster my potential. Experience with bulldogs would be super. I need clear, calm leadership and people who can and want to read me. A quiet household without children is important for me. I would feel best at the outskirts of town or in the countryside, where not much is happening around me. Can I be the very best Eddy that’s in me at your place?

DE·Show original

About Eddy

What life with Eddy looks like

Eddy is a medium-sized young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
