Edi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

It's puppy season, and once again, it's a sad time when unwanted babies are simply abandoned to their fate. We will always find it hard to understand how people can do such things. If our partners hadn't found them and asked for help, these four puppy dogs would undoubtedly have died. Infested with parasites, starved, dehydrated. Or killed by stray dogs or wild animals. But they were lucky and were taken in by the rescue of Paola and Pierpaolo. Here, they were fed and freed from the painful parasites. When we met the four little ones during our team project tour in mid-April 2026, they had already recovered well. Fortunately, nothing reminded us of the hardships the babies had to endure. For their final happiness, little Edi as well as Eleonora and her brothers Elfo and Ermes now only need a home with loving people. Because no matter how well and lovingly they are treated in the rescue: it is no substitute for a family of their own. As soon as possible, Eleonora, Elfo, Ermes, and Edi will now travel to Germany so that they can find their forever home there. Would you like to give one of these little treasures the chance to have a wonderful dog life with a close family connection? https://wwww.youtube.com/watch?v=6FpzFNvMt7g&ra=m29. May 2026: Edi was allowed to travel to her German foster home. June 11, 2026: The young and beautiful female dog Edi has settled into her foster home in Windeseile and shows her very best side there. She gets along wonderfully with the two large dogs on site, as well as with her traveling dog buddies. She feels at ease and especially enjoys the exuberant play with her peers – very puppy-like, full of joy, and always ready for a game. Edi is an absolutely adorable, charming, and very affectionate little dog girl who would like to have her people all to herself. She tends to push her fellow animals a little – "Small but oh well" fits her quite well. She has her own mind, is very clever, curious, and wants to discover the world. Edi brings a lot of energy, wants to experience something, and already shows that a real little power package is inside her. With her cute button eyes, she manages to immediately put a smile on everyone's face – and one can hardly resist her charm. She loves walks, she wants to be challenged and encouraged, and she is full of initiative. She is still at the very beginning of her development: house training, leash walking, and the dog ABC still need to be learned. For Edi, we are looking for people who enjoy growing up with a young dog, raising her lovingly, showing her the world, and at the same time not overworking her. Active, patient, and humorous people who are looking for a little mood-lifting package with character will definitely be happy with Edi. Recently, a volunteer meeting with Edi took place, at which the photographer Svenja Münzer provided us with wonderful pictures – a big thank you! If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide nationwide.

About Edi

What life with Edi looks like

Edi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Edi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Edi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Edi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Edi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Edi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Edi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Edi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
