Edi

Female · Adult · 5 years

Edi, a smart and playful female dog, arrived at the Kecskemét animal shelter on August 28, 2026, along with Pucor. They were found together on the street, unclaimed and fortunately secured, and reported to the shelter. They were visibly happy and grateful for their rescue. No microchip, no one missing the duo. We know nothing about their past, but their future is in our hands, and we hope they will find loving people who show them the bright side of life every day and forever! Edi and Pucor do not have to be paired up. Edi is a smart female dog, a cheerful nature. Loving, friendly, open, cheerful, nice, agile, sometimes a bit too enthusiastic, just a great four-legged friend who brings a lot of joy and, like all dogs, is in the wrong place at the shelter. Edi enjoys every caress and human affection, soaks it up like a sponge and would like to have more of it. She needs a lot of love and closeness. New situations can sometimes unsettle her, but with her people by her side, she will master every "obstacle". Walking on a leash is already quite good, but it is still worth practicing. Edi still needs to go to school, but it will definitely be a lot of fun to learn and practice with her, because she wants to please, learn and just be with her people. She wants to be engaged in a dog-friendly way and go on an adventure with her two-legged friends. She would be the ideal partner for everything where dogs and people can spend time together and have fun. With her kindred spirits, she gets along well and currently (October 7, 2026) lives with Pucor in a 2-person flat. For our enchanting Edi, we are looking for enterprising and loving people who can mentally and physically engage Edi, enjoy the outdoors with their four-legged friend, have a lot of love and security for Edi, and warmly welcome her into their family forever. Whoever gives this wonderful dog their time and love will get a loyal companion for life. A lonely four-legged friend is looking for a family connection! Edi can travel from around the end of October/beginning of November 2026 if she has found a home or a foster home.

DE·Show original

About Edi

What life with Edi looks like

Edi is an adult dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Edi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Edi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Edi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Edi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Edi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Edi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Edi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
