Edward

Galgo Español · Male · Puppy

We were contacted about these two beautiful greyhounds, Edward and Vivian. They have always lived on an estate, being used for hunting. Now the land where they lived has been sold, and their owners are moving to an apartment, and they did not want to give them even the chance to see how they would adapt. The only solution they considered was to get rid of them. Now these two angels are looking for the home they deserve. 16 June 2025: Edward went for his ear check-up, and he posed so proudly while receiving cuddles from his vet Marina and the veterinary assistant Almudena. 27 February 2026: Just look how handsome Edward is. He lives in the best company now, having been given a home. If you would like to give him a home, write to

About Edward

What life with Edward looks like

Edward is a large puppy galgo español dog waiting at La Huella Roja Almería in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Edward, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Edward?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. La Huella Roja Almería handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Edward on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Edward if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — La Huella Roja Almería will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Edward already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Edward isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with La Huella Roja Almería early rather than rehoming privately; they know Edward and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
