Adopt Egir

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 12 years

EGIR arrived at the animal shelter as a young dog, he was 1 year old... We don't know what the person did to him. The young dog, who was afraid of people, would run away and was scared of sudden movements. Over the years since he has been with us, he impresses with his looks, but when we said what he is like and what his family needs, people declined. Egir won't approach on his own to cuddle, usually when we enter the crate, he stays to the side. He gets along well with the dogs that live in the crate with him and will surely find it easier in a home with another dog. He needs time to trust. On walks, he walks on a leash, and allows petting. He will find his place in a home without small children, he needs peace, a sense of security and stability. Born in 2014. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped.

Potrzebuje czasu by zaufać. Na spacerach chodzi na smyczy, daje się głaskać.Odnajdzie się w domu bez małych dzieci, potrzebny spokój , poczucie bezpieczeństwa i stabilizacja. Urodzony w 2014 roku.Wykastrowany, zaszczepiony, zaczipowany. Kasia 507 237 447 Ola 533 564 074

About Egir

What life with Egir looks like

Egir is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Egir, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Egir?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Egir on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Egir if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Egir already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Egir isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Egir and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
