Adopt Egon & Yvonne

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Tomcat Egon & Cat Yvonne Age: born around April 2023. Gender: male & female Color: tabby Registered: microchipped and vaccinated Neutered: yes Single housing: no Egon is a relaxed tomcat. He is initially afraid of strangers and quickly disappears under the furniture. After a while, he can gain trust and then likes to come for cuddling and allows himself to be petted. Egon also enjoys playing. He is quite cheeky and can be enticed and pampered with treats. He likes to cuddle on the couch. In the morning, he comes immediately to the bathroom for a greeting, because once he has gained trust, he wants to be involved in everything. Egon also repeatedly raises his cat voice and complains about closed doors when he is not allowed to be there. In addition, he is quite persistent in reminding you that you did not forget the feeding times. Yvonne is a very kind cat. She likes to play with Egon and zooms through the apartment with energy. Yvonne is a very small cat. She only has a stump and no tail, yet she is really very cute. Yvonne has a heart defect, which fortunately does not restrict her life too much. During play, it should not get too wild, as she then gets out of breath too quickly and cannot breathe properly. Yvonne is initially rather reserved and needs some time to get to know someone. However, she can also gain trust over time and comes out of her hiding place. When her friend Egon has already dared to come out, it becomes much easier for her. She likes to cuddle next to someone and, if allowed, also enjoys being petted and cuddles wildly. However, if you try to follow her and pick her up, she does not like that at all. But she also likes to be involved in everything if she can decide herself. The two would like to move together into their new home. Do you feel like offering this couple a nice home? Then leave your contact details in the form below or contact us under , 232 88. We look forward to you! Please note that we are all fully employed and do our association work on a voluntary basis in our free time, and therefore cannot always respond immediately. Many thanks!

About Egon & Yvonne

What life with Egon & Yvonne looks like

Egon & Yvonne is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Verein Katzenhilfe e.V. Radolfzell in Radolfzell.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Egon & Yvonne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Egon & Yvonne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Verein Katzenhilfe e.V. Radolfzell handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Egon & Yvonne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Egon & Yvonne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Verein Katzenhilfe e.V. Radolfzell will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Egon & Yvonne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Egon & Yvonne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Verein Katzenhilfe e.V. Radolfzell early rather than rehoming privately; they know Egon & Yvonne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
