Einzelprinz Moppel

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Moppel was born around August 2018. The handsome black teddy bear Moppel marched up and down the street one day. He begged passers-by for food. A Spanish couple picked him up and brought him to the animal clinic. After the examination, he was allowed to move to the shelter. The Spanish Moppel is a big cuddly cat, friendly, content and very attached to humans. He loves to sleep under the duvet and snuggles up close to 'his' person. In March 2025 he was allowed to travel to Switzerland with his companion. Since June of this year, however, Moppel is drawn to the neighbor and only goes home to eat. It seems that he does not feel very comfortable in his current home and is therefore looking for a new loving home as a single prince. Now Moppel wants a home as a single prince with FREIGANG (far away from busy streets). Moppel is neutered, tested, chipped and vaccinated and is being mediated with the animal welfare letter. Currently in the canton of Zurich.

DE·Show original

About Einzelprinz Moppel

What life with Einzelprinz Moppel looks like

Einzelprinz Moppel is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Waisenkatzen.ch in Waisenkatzen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Einzelprinz Moppel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Einzelprinz Moppel?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Waisenkatzen.ch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Einzelprinz Moppel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Einzelprinz Moppel if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Waisenkatzen.ch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Einzelprinz Moppel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Einzelprinz Moppel isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Waisenkatzen.ch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Einzelprinz Moppel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
