EKH Heinrich &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Heinrich is yet another newcomer who could already be up for adoption. The cat is unneutered, and five kittens were born. By October, it will get cold. But they are quite sweet, having grown up outdoors. Then they are big, and suddenly, even in early spring, it’s time again. We are relieved that none of the “kittens” were pregnant at the time of surrender. All the little ones are now with us, just the mom is still missing until the end of the action. Heinrich is the tamest of the bunch, just shy, but good to handle. We hope his trust will grow until he finds his home, and we are quite optimistic about that. So Heinrich is looking for a home where he can arrive and have the time he needs to settle in. Once that happens, he can enjoy life as an outdoor cat or as a house cat, as he has quickly adapted to our place. Of course, he would be very happy as a second cat or perhaps even with a sibling waiting for him. Who would like to show the sweet young tomcat that he can now live in safety?

About EKH Heinrich &#8211

What life with EKH Heinrich &#8211 looks like

EKH Heinrich &#8211 is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting EKH Heinrich &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about EKH Heinrich &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw EKH Heinrich &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt EKH Heinrich &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is EKH Heinrich &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if EKH Heinrich &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know EKH Heinrich &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
