EKH Paella &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Paella is yet another new arrival, one that could already be up for adoption. She is an unneutered cat, with five kittens born to her. In October, it will get cold, but she has grown up sweetly outdoors. Then they will be big, and even in winter, just before spring, that’s when it all starts again. We are relieved that none of the “kittens” were pregnant at the time of surrender. All the little ones are now with us, just the mother is still missing until the end of the action. Paella is the tamest of the bunch, just shy, but good to handle. We hope her trust will grow until she finds her home, and we are quite optimistic about that. She is looking for a home where she can arrive and have the time she needs to settle in. Once that happens, she can enjoy life as an outdoor cat or as a house cat, she has quickly adapted to our place. Of course, she would be very happy as a second pet or perhaps even with a sibling waiting for her. Who would like to prove to the sweet princess that she can now live in safety?. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About EKH Paella &#8211

What life with EKH Paella &#8211 looks like

EKH Paella &#8211 is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting EKH Paella &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about EKH Paella &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw EKH Paella &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt EKH Paella &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is EKH Paella &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if EKH Paella &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know EKH Paella &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
