EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

I am male, neutered, and born in the late summer of 2020. I have been waiting since March 2021 for a new home. My caretakers say about me: Pitti is also a half-fed-up youngster who has grown up without much care and now needs a new home. At first, he found it hard to adjust, but he has settled in a bit and is already communicating more with us. Of course, he needs time and patience before he can trust. He is far from the proverbial cat that will choose its owner in the matching room. Just like he is far from a truly wild cat. We are currently working with him on grooming and it is clear that this will take time. However, he is easily handled, and we are sure that with enough patience, he will trust his human and eventually request some grooming sessions. To make his time more comfortable, he would like to move in as a second cat, and Pitty gets along well with fellow animals, which she knows. Who would like to have in-depth conversations with Pitti in the future and accept his initial distance, until he is happy to trade his safety distance for physical contact?

DE·Show original

About EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold

What life with EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold looks like

EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know EKH Pitti – Reden ist Gold and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
